We were born from the team who made Rising Storm, PC Gamer’s 2013 ‘Multiplayer Game of the Year’, and Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, which released earlier this year. We have also worked on the Killing Floor games, as well as work for other major publishers.

CURRENT VACANCIES:

Technical Artist

AntiMatter Games is looking for an outstanding, high energy, enthusiastic and highly self-motivated Technical Artist to work on our current game; ’83.

The ideal candidate would have a passion for Technical Art, with a strong ability to work with other disciplines. You will work day to day on improving pipelines and making planned changes while supporting the art team. You will also act as the bridge between artists and programers streamlining problem solving for both sides.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  •  Assess, maintain and improve our existing set of shaders and material   creation processes.
  • Monitor game performance and memory usage and help to improve the monitoring toolset.
  • Create and maintain PostFX and provide feedback on the creation workflow.
  • Optimize effects and for performance while retaining visual quality.
  • Work closely with the Art Lead inorder to maintain visual consistency.
  • Troubleshoot and provide solutions to visual effects related issues
  • Create high quality real time visual effects.
  • Experience creating VFX and PFX in Unreal Engine 4
  • Experience with Unreal Engines`s Materials, Cascade / Niagara and Blueprints
  • Experience with optimizing particle effects in game environments

Requirements 

  • Experience as Technical Artist on at least one shipped title.
  • In depth knowledge of memory and performance impact from a content creation perspective.
  • Experience with 3ds Max
  • Experience with UE4 or similar engine
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Understanding of run-time shader languages such as HLSL or GLSL
  • Experience in Python and the use of PyQt/PySide
  • Skills to communicate material and rendering features to the art and design teams.

Technical Animator

Antimatter Games is looking for a passionate, driven Technical Animator to join our team. We are seeking an experienced professional to work on ‘83, a tactical shooter for 80+ players set during a fictionalised Cold-War-Gone-Hot being developed in-house in UE4. We are keen to find someone who will be an integral part of the development team and bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to animation design and implementation.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dedicated and enthusiastic team, and to put technical pipelines in place which will define the animation workflow and systems for not only the game, but for the studio as a whole.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Work with the animation team to define, create and maintain the animation pipeline
  • Design and support complex character, facial and weapon rigs in 3DS Max
  • Own the skinning process for a variety of characters, each with modular and customizable gear and physical attributes
  • Create custom tools and scripts to increase the productivity and efficiency of the animation team
  • Support and improve the integration of animation assets from 3DS Max to game engine
  • Support the Lead Animator in any ad hoc tasks and duties.

Essential Requirements

Audio Designer

Antimatter Games is looking for a passionate, driven Audio Designer to join our team. We are seeking an experienced professional to work on ‘83, a tactical shooter for 80+ players set during a fictionalised Cold-War-Gone-Hot being developed in-house in UE4. We are keen to find someone who will be an integral part of the development team and bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to both design and implementation.

Joining at the start of the project will give the candidate a fantastic opportunity to shape the audio excellence of the project while being supported by the entire dev team.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up new systems within the engine and/or audio middleware, when necessary, to address new or changing needs for audio implementation;
  • Sound design and mixing in a dynamic immersive environment.
  • Bugfixing and troubleshooting problems that arise with implementation.
  • Represent audio interests within cross-discipline meetings/discussions.

Essential Requirements

  • Exceptional audio design showreel (please keep to 1m30s or less).
  • Proven track record of implementing audio to AAA standard, showing creative flair. (wwise orsimilar)
  • Experience using Pro-Tools 9 or higher to create exceptional sound design, plus all
  • accompanying plug-ins and advanced signal processing.
  • Pro-active attitude, constantly seeking innovative solutions to workflows.
  • Ability to work independently and under direction in teams.
  • Exceptional time management skills.

Beneficial Skills/Experience

  • Experience planning and recording location SFX, Foley sessions and overseeing mixing of liner content.

Level Designer

Antimatter Games is looking for talented, experienced Level Designers at all levels of experience (minimum 2 years) to join our team for work on our UE4 tactical shooter ’83. Permanent roles, based in our Cornwall office. We offer stability and excellent long-term prospects working in a beautiful part of the UK.

At Antimatter, our workflow is very organic, so you’ll be expected to interact heavily with the programming, design and art teams as well as with other Level Designers. We’re looking for candidates who wants to be part of a team and make meaningful contributions to how our games look and feel.

Example Duties

  • Creating levels from the beginning to end (Whitebox/Blockout through to final set dressing, lighting and bugfixing)
  • Creating Design Documents that effectively communicate plans for levels, areas, and gameplay features using a mixture of images and text
  • Contributing to the studio’s internal dialogues on various design issues, and giving feedback and suggestions to other Level Designers on their work.

Requirements

  • Credit on at least one released 3D game title on PC or Console
  • Demonstrable knowledge of level design, pacing and gameplay flow
  • Demonstrable knowledge of composition, lighting and set dressing
  • 2+ years industry experience in Level Design specific to PC Games or Console
  • Playable levels that can be shown as part of Portfolio (Mod, Custom Maps, Released Game)

3D Artist

Antimatter Games is looking for a talented environment artist familiar with 3D pipelines, 3D asset modelling and Unreal Engine 4 to join the team in a permanent capacity. The role is based in our Falmouth, Cornwall office, and will involve working with our level design team and other artists to create visually exciting and impressive spaces for our games.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing the visual appearance of maps from concept to execution, working with a gameplay level designer to create a cohesive and engaging play-space which is rich in detail and visual fidelity.
  • Concept work for maps on a visual level, including using skills that help you communicate your vision to other members of the team.
  • Creating key assets and textures, implementing them in-game.
  • Identifying assets which are needed and creating briefs for other modellers, and helping to scope and plan work on environment art for titles.
  • Working with other artists, and the art lead, to make sure that all environment assets are consistent on a technical and artistic level.
  • Optimising assets and maps to maximise game performance.

Requirements

  • Experience creating visually impressive spaces in major 3D game engines.
  • Work on environment art in at least one published 3D game title for PC or consoles.
  • Great modelling – preferably using 3DSMax – and texturing, particularly with a realistic style.
  • A strong understanding of the technical pipeline (and limitations) for assets used in modern game engines.
  • Excellent eye for aesthetic style, colour, detail and visual/spatial storytelling.
  • Good communication skills for collaborating with level designers and other artists.
  • Strong understanding of how to maximise the technical elements of environmental design to increase visual fidelity.

Beneficial Skills/Experience

  • An understanding of shaders and how they are used in UE4.
  • Other technical skills related to environment art and visual asset creation, for example an understanding of particle effect creation pipelines, or 2D Art skills.

Senior Programmer

Antimatter Games are seeking experienced professionals to work on ‘83, a tactical shooter for 80+ players set during a fictionalised Cold-War-Gone-Hot being developed in-house in UE4. We are keen to find someone who will be an integral part of the development team and bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to our robust coding department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Translate designs and requirements into clean and efficient code
  • Produce prototypes of gameplay ideas and features from design team
  • Research and develop new game systems and tools to improve performance and development pipeline
  • Implement all technical aspects of games such as networking, animation, effects, UI, audio…
  • Assess and solve performance and memory issues in an existing codebase
  • Analyse, refactor, and improve existing core technology and tools
  • Serve as a technical expert and provide input and feedback as part of a team with our other programmers in discourse on how to structure systems and resolve problems
  • Communicate effectively with our design team & project leadership about the practical and technical concerns of proposed features and content, including timeframes and any relevant technical limitations
  • Collaborate with other internal departments (Art, Design, Audio, QA, etc…)

REQUIREMENTS

  • One or more shipped PC/console titles with engine or graphics credit
  • Excellent C++ programming and systems design skills

HR Representative

Reporting to Directors and Operations Manager. Salary Negotiable subject to experience.This is an exciting opportunity to help build HR and company culture within a growing and busy game development studio. This position would suit someone who has started on the path of their HR career already, looking to grow within the role and have a variety of tasks, with HR and fostering company culture at the core of responsibilities.We are looking for an adaptable and diplomatic person with creative flair to do the right thing for both the employee and the business, whilst maintaining and building upon our evolving culture. Our team is international with both remote and in-house employees which creates challenges to keep everyone included and feel part of the team.
Key responsibilities

  • Administer recruitment campaigns, manage communications in line with direction from hiring managers, providing end to end support and guidance through the pipeline for candidates.
  • Administer on boarding of new employees, including reference checks, drafting offer letters and contracts, electronic filing of details, communicating with depts on outcomes, joining paperwork, organising inductions and information for new starters.
